A Solution to ‘The Heartless Crisis’

There is an old saying about pointing your finger at someone, and that is the remaining three point back at you. There is A LOT of truth in that one. Unless a person learns to examine themselves soberly before first accusing and condemning others,  they run the danger of condemning themselves.

I learnt a lot from watching professional wrestling over the years. The number of ‘morality plays’ that were acted out were countless and extremely effective at separating good from evil, and right from wrong. Up until fairly recently, the distinctions between the ‘Heels’ and the ‘Babyfaces’ was clearly defined.

One scenario that stands out in my mind was when Greg ‘The Hammer’ Valentine and Ric ‘Nature Boy’ Flair teamed up against Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka and Some other bad guy I can’t specifically recall. Through the course of the match the battle raged as each team tagged off their partners as they wearied from the fight. At one point, Ric Flair was taking a sound thrashing, and extended his hand to ‘The Hammer’ to assist him. Much to Flair’s horror, Valentine simply turned away from him and refused to tag. Flair then attempted to defend himself in his weakened state, but once again tried to reach his partner, only to be ignored a second time.

At this point, Flair was so weakened that Jimmy Snuka began battering him at will, without the slightest retaliation from the beleaguered Nature boy. Then the unthinkable occurred. Greg Valentine entered the ring, and hit Flair across the face with a kane provided by an outside source, breaking his nose. Needless to say, it was not a good day for the ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair.

Have you ever reached out to someone for help, only to discover that the ‘friend’ you thought was in your corner, turned out to be nothing but a ‘Fair Weather Friend’, who was only on your side if you were winning, but dumped you when you started to lose? It isn’t a very good feeling knowing that the one you thought you could trust proved to be a backstabber and a turncoat.

Sometimes, you may have even suspected that the person in question was jealous of you, but continued to pretend to be your friend, more for political reasons than the proper reasons. No matter what, it still hurts like hell to know that your suspicions where correct after all.

I guess Jesus had that happen to him upon Judas’s betrayal as well. I’m sure Jesus knew deep down that Judas was a rat all along, but continued to let him hang around in spite of his suspicions.

It’s sad to think that there are many, many people out there who are reaching out to their brothers and sisters, and being given ‘The Cold Shoulder’ in return. Those that are ‘Homeless’ are amongst those extending their hands hoping someone might tag off and rush in to their rescue ‘In the Nick of Time’ in order to bail out their ‘battered and bloody’ partners. It’s one thing to hear the fans screaming for somebody, anybody, to come and help. That alone won’t be enough. There is nothing more exciting that when suddenly the crowd begins to ‘Go Nuts’ because some ‘Superstar’ comes running out of the dressing room straight into the ring, usually still in his ‘Street Clothes’, and begins to ‘Clean House’, sending the bad guys heading for the hills with their tales between their legs.

So let’s assist ‘Superstar’Jesus Christ come to the rescue of those getting  beaten within ‘an inch of their lives’, and send the ‘Heels’ hightailing it back to the dressing room where they belong!

Glory be to God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen!!!

Addendum to ‘The Heartless Crisis’

I have always wondered why there were certain wrestlers that decided to wear a mask. I believe it was for reasons other than protection purposes. There is something about a mask which does not betray emotion or expression, especially in the midst of pain. I believe that a mask could create the impression that the man wearing It was ferocious, invincible, or heartless. In my opinion, the scariest and weirdest people I’ve ever met are the ones whose faces seldom reveal any expression whatsoever. They are extremely difficult to read and sometimes even give me the ‘willies’. The Bible tells us that the mouth is the overflow of the heart. I believe that a persons face is also indicative of what’s going on inside their head, or their heart. Unless you are a professional card player, or a ‘Pokerfaced’ floozy like ‘Lady Gaga’, or the murderous ‘Micheal Myers’ from the ‘Halloween’ movies, wearing an expressionless mask in my opinion tells me you just might be hiding something, like a cold, cruel heart, for example. Either that or you’ve had too many ‘Botox’ injections. Something tells me that if Jesus were wearing a mask, it would be one which had a loving, serene expression on it. It would have been something akin to the face of a child. Something tells me that, even though he was in agony on the cross, a person could probably still see the love in his face, even through the excruciating pain. That would go hand-in-hand with the words that escaped from his lips, which were “Father forgive them for they know not what they do”. If that wasn’t the ultimate expression of love and the overflow of a huge and tender heart, then I don’t know what is.
